Cabins, cubes, barrels and combos leave the workshop assembled, so once the building is on its base and the heater is connected you can light it. You still need a level base, and an electrician if the heater is electric. Kits are the exception: DIY cubes, and any sauna you order as a kit rather than assembled, arrive flat in an OSB crate and are raised on site.

Oil or stain the exterior once a year on a dry day, paying attention to end grain and anywhere splash lands. Leave interior sauna benches alone unless we have specified a sauna-safe finish; they should silver. Kept like this, a heat-treated timber building lasts decades outdoors. Neglected, the first wet winter finds it out.

Electric if you will sauna on a weekday morning at the press of a button. Wood if the building is a weekend habit and you like tending a fire. Combos can mix them. We specify cable size or flue before anything is cut.

Usually two to three hours with dry, seasoned hardwood, longer in a hard frost or if the tub was left uncovered. Burn dry wood only — wet logs smoke, waste heat and coat the flue. A lid is not a luxury.

Not for a tub you empty and refill every few soaks. If you want to keep water in for weeks and treat it with chemicals, yes: the filter circulates the water, catches debris and lets the treatment work. It is an uplift on the tub pages, along with a UV lamp if you want belt and braces.

Many garden buildings of this size sit within permitted development, but not all, and not everywhere. Conservation areas, listed buildings and some new estates are different. Check with your local authority. We can send dimensions and drawings; we cannot give planning advice.

Level, solid and draining. Slabs on a proper sub-base, compacted stone with an edge, screw piles or concrete pads all work. Decking only if it was engineered for the load. We send footprint dimensions and weights with the order so whoever builds the base can build to them, and it must be finished before we book the lorry.

The same, but heavier. A filled family tub is more than a tonne before anyone climbs in, and it must not rock or settle. Level, load-bearing and flat: slabs, a thin raft, or compacted stone with a proper edge. Get it right and the tub will sit there for years.

A wood-fired soak tub does not. If you add a sand filter, an electric heater, LED lighting, hydro-massage or air bubbles, those need power and should be connected by a qualified electrician. We tell you the load when we confirm the spec.

An electric heater needs its own dedicated supply, and the larger Harvia and HUUM units often want three-phase; the exact requirement depends on the heater you choose. A wood-burning sauna only needs power for lights, if you want them. We send the heater specification before delivery; a qualified electrician makes the connection.

Country-wide, to gardens across the UK, kerbside as standard. We confirm your postcode before you order, because islands, the far north and some city centres cost more and take longer. Delivery and siting are quoted separately once we have seen your access, and paid before the lorry is booked.

To the kerb, as close to the pad as the lorry can legally and safely get. From there it is carried, not rolled, and moving it into place is your job: four or five fit adults and a clear route usually does it. If the route is too tight for people, a small crane may be needed, which you arrange or we can arrange for a fee.

As a finished building on a lorry, to the kerb. It cannot be carried by hand, so a crane or forklift lifts it onto the base. Booking the crane is your responsibility; we can organise one on your behalf for a fee and will brief the crane firm on weights and lifting points. We will not book a slot until we have seen photographs of the route and the crane has somewhere firm to stand.

Sometimes. A few of our saunas can be delivered in sections and raised in your garden by our team. It is not standard, not available on every model, and it costs more than a kerbside drop. Send us photographs and measurements before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it is realistic.

You are. Our responsibility for the building runs until it is offloaded at the kerb or the nearest safe point. Check it over and note any transit damage on the paperwork before you sign, then send us photographs the same day and we will put it right. Damage during lifting or positioning by you or your contractors, or from a base that is not level, is not something we can cover.

Build your spec on the product page and press Buy. You pay the full configured price in one go, by card through Stripe, and get a receipt by email. We then check the order by hand and confirm it in writing before anything is cut. Delivery and siting are not in that price; they are quoted separately once we have seen your access. If you would rather order by email after a conversation, we confirm the total and how to pay in writing.

Lead times are typically 4–14 weeks, depending on the building, counted from the day we confirm your order. Each product page shows a typical figure for that build. Particular heaters, unusual glazing and the spring rush can stretch it, and we will tell you if they do.

Everything we sell is made to order, so once production has started there are no change-of-mind cancellations or refunds: your payment has become timber, a heater and workshop hours. If you need to cancel before production starts, tell us straight away and we will refund you, less any cost we have already committed for your build and cannot recover. Faulty or damaged goods are a different matter — your statutory rights are untouched and we will repair or replace.

A 3-year structural warranty on the timber structure — shell, frame, floor and roof — from the day it is delivered, as long as it has been sited level on a proper base and oiled as we ask. Stoves, electric heaters, chillers, pumps, filters and lights follow their maker’s warranty, which we pass on and help you claim. We cannot cover a building that was dropped onto an uneven deck. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act sit on top of all of this.
